On the other hand the computer freezes up when I try to compute the nutritional data. I copied all the text of the terminal when installing and there is an error showed twice. I'm using Bazaar for version control: http://bazaar.canonical.com/ Why not check out the C source code to get familiar with that's there [1] Right now the current version is written in Python and has some bugs that need fixing. Are you familiar with Python? Even if you're not, I'm sure that getting the current version and running it to becoming familiar with how the current version works would go a long way to helping to see what's still missing from the C redesign (alot.) I became the maintainer about a year ago, and created the mailing lists at that time. You're actually the first person to send anything to the mailing list -- Congrats! What I'm seeing: I start gnutritiion on a Ubuntu Lucid Lynx machine and select the "Plan" from the left hand side menu. I enter items for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner into the Plan. I save the plan and get the warning: "The old plan will be overwritten by the new one. Are you sure you want to do this?" I select "Yes" I then quit the program and start it up again. When I look at the plan the information I entered and saved is no longer there. Everything seems to be working ok except for saving data. When I hit save after entering a food item in the plan; "The old plan will be overwritten by the new one". "Are you sure you want to do this"? I notice that in the shell from which I started gnutrition it says "No Result" every time I try to save. I opened the SQL database and can see that it did originally store my name in the 'people' table so I guess write access to the MySQL database must be ok. I see the same behaviour with recipes. Any ideas? Also - is there anyway to add more than one user profile?
