From jself@gnu.org Sat Mar 31 21:14:03 2012 From: jself@gnu.org (Jason Self) Date: Sat, 31 Mar 2012 16:14:03 -0400 Subject: [info-gnutrition] GNUtrition Test Release Message-ID: <20120331201403.GA11423@fencepost.gnu.org> A test release of GNUtrition is now available. The test release can be found on alpha.gnu.org: http://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/gnutrition (via HTTP) ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/gnutrition (via FTP) This release is intended to address a bug where recipes are not saved to the MySQL database. Testing is appreciated: 1) Follow the existing INSTALL directions to see that the MySQL database gets correctly setup; both from a 'clean' MySQL install and with an existing MySQL database. I seem to recall that from a clean MySQL install it worked but if you already had MySQL installed then following the instructions resulted in a Python exception. 2) Verify a recipe can be saved, quit the program, and upon a restart pull up the saved recipe. -- Jason Self Project Maintainer GPG Key: 47486962 -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... New in version 0.32: * GNUtrition will periodically check gnu.org and notify you when a new version is available. * The USDA data has been updated from the ancient SR13 to the latest version, SR24. * The minimum Python version has been increased to version 2.6. GNUtrition is not compatible with Python 3 at this time. * GNUtrition now uses the built-in SQLite3 Python module and the database has been converted to SQLite. Your existing database will be converted automatically. Once that's complete you no longer need to run a MySQL server for GNUtrition, eliminating a dependency.
